Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Left Inverse ("Phantom", "we") handles information for Phantom Voice and this website (leftinverse.com).

1. The short version

Phantom Voice is private by architecture. Phantom Voice transcribes your speech entirely on your Mac. Dictation audio and transcripts are not uploaded, stored, or sent to us or anyone else. We do not operate a server that receives your dictated content.

2. What we do and don't collect

• Dictation audio and transcripts: stay on your Mac. We never receive them.
• Model downloads and updates: the app connects to download the speech models you select and to check for software updates. Your dictation audio and transcript are not included in those requests.
• Purchases: handled by our payment processor, Paddle, who acts as Merchant of Record. Paddle collects the billing details needed to complete your order (name, email, payment info, country). We receive only what's needed to issue and support your license (e.g. your email and what you bought). See Paddle's privacy policy.
• License keys: tied to the email you purchase with, so we can (re)deliver your key and provide support.
• Website: we use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It is cookieless and aggregate: it does not set a cookie, does not follow you to other sites, and does not build a profile of you. We run no advertising trackers. If you would rather not be counted, add ?no-analytics=1 to any page address and this browser stops sending anything (?no-analytics=0 undoes it). Paddle checkout may use cookies and collect the information needed to process a purchase under Paddle's own privacy policy.
• Public counters: we keep one running total per product for downloads and for purchases, and we publish those numbers on this site. Each is a single number that gets one added to it. We do not store your IP address, your browser, a cookie, a timestamp, or anything else alongside it, so nothing in a counter can be traced back to a person or a visit. Counting began in July 2026; there is no earlier history because nothing was recorded before then.

3. How we use information

To deliver your license, provide support, process refunds, and (if you opted in) email you product news. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Sharing

We share data only with processors needed to run the business - currently Paddle (payments) and Resend (license delivery). They process data on our behalf under their own terms.

5. Data retention

We keep purchase/license records as required for tax and support purposes (typically up to 5 years after your last purchase, or longer where the law requires). You can ask us to delete data we hold about you.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR/CCPA), you may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data. Contact us at leftinverse@gmail.com.

7. Children

Phantom is not directed to children under 16.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
